We've also added two types of social networking tools, one is a plugin that goes on every page another is a module which as you know, modules can go on any page you want. We've enabled by default, the plugin to show its chicklets at the bottom of each article, as well as a digg at the top right.

Twitter is a micro-blogging site that has become very popular in the last couple years. We've included a module to show your tweets in a Joomla module. By default this is not enabled as you will need to add your Twitter username and password to the module to get it started.

We've included both an embedded Joomla comments extension and also a plugin for IntenseDebate.com which is a comments platform that you can include in any site. As far as features go Intense Debate is much more advanced than anything you can find in Joomla, but some of you want something you can use only for your site. We understand. That is why we included both.

Currently the embedded solution is enabled by default and you can see it at the bottom of each post once you click on any blog post to view the entire blog. There are many parameters for this comments extension. Currently it is limited to only the "blog" section of this site. If you want to used intense debate you'll need to include it, and disable the default comments.

There are a lot of bulky Joomla components out there for tagging. We tried them all. The best way to do tagging in Joomla is to keep it simple and use Joomla's standard Meta Keywords to add your comma delimited tags. Meta Keywords are used by a bunch of components, therefore using meta keywords versus a 3rd party tagging extensions allows you to integrate into other third party tools that use meta keywords. This opens a whole new creative paradigm.

We've included a plugin that takes the meta keywords and puts them into tags on each of your blog posts (Articles). These tags are included into a tag cloud that measures the frequency of the use of a tag.

We have enabled the popular firefox extension Scribefire to be able to quickly post to your blog section. If you don't have Scribefire, download it from mozilla. This tool will allow you to blog much quicker than standard content entry. You can also be anywhere on the web to create a post. This post was actually create with Scribefire!
